After experimenting with several AI engines and prompting techniques, I managed to get Veo to produce a realistic animation from a photograph of this Plasticine model. The concept seemed to challenge the AI because there was no real-world reference point for this “creature,” and many of the models produced inconsistent or distorted results. The physical model itself only has a front face, there is no back, so it was impressive to see the AI invent and animate the unseen side based solely on the details in
 the photograph.
Creating the same effect through traditional stop-motion animation would have taken a huge amount of time, and the models are far too delicate to withstand that process. This experiment really highlighted the potential of AI in this kind of creative workflow, and I’m keen to continue exploring its possibilities further.
